I had already been running my own business for about 10 years at the time (a fashion sales agency for adult clothing and accessory brands), and I had just given birth to my daughter in the fall of 2007. I found myself feeling less excited about the prospect of returning to the business. While I really liked the agency and the industry, I was feeling like I needed something a bit more creative and something that I truly had complete control over. I also found at that time, that it was really hard to find simple, well-made fashion basics for my daughter – especially in neutral colours. So drawing upon my fashion industry experience, I made the decision to start a small collection of Canadian-made, organic infant basics, and we launched our first collection 6 months later.
